!Factory Car Alarm Help! I have a 98 Z28 with the factory alarm. Yesterday it started acting weird. I usually lock the car from the inside before I get out and the alarm is set. Yesterday, though, I lock it and it starts honking....twice, pause, twice, pause, twice. I use the remote unlock and it stops. I hit the remote lock button and it makes two quick honks (to signal it's locked) and then starts honking again the described manner above. I finally left it (at work) and I guess it stopped honking for a little bit. Now it's the morning and it's doing it again....so I can't leave it just honking, but I don't want to leave my car unlocked either.
Can anyone help me figure this out? Or at least disable to factory alarm, but keep the remote lock/unlock?

Re: !Factory Car Alarm Help! Your owners manual describes how to disable it thru the key fob. More then likely the shock sensor is causing the problems. Try unplugging it and seeing if the problem goes away.

Re: !Factory Car Alarm Help! As Chevy has said....Step 1. Turn the ignition on then off
# 2 Remove the radio fuse only (not the one that says acc/radio).
# 3 Turn the key to the accessory position. When you do this you will get two chirps from the door buzzer. If you only hear only one it does not have a factory alarm.
# 4 Press the unlock sitch till you hear 1 chirp.
# 5 Turn the ignition off.
# 6 Put the fuse back in.
