CDR's that work on my Monsoon
I have a bunch of CDR's and maybe one in ten of them play on my Monsoon indash CD player.
Does anyone have a brand blank CD's or system for burning that works?

factory radios are not made to play cdr's but you will have the best luck with high quality cdr's, don't buy the 100 for 10 bucks, dont even mess with cdrw's

I have never had any issues with CD-R media. I have a '98 Grand Prix with 12 disk changer and a '02 WS6 with in dash unit. I try to stick with gold CD-R's maybe thats why I have not had a problem and I have heard that the blue ones can cause issues. Hope this helps..

I had the same problem with my car, it would only play certain brands...if you can find them, go with Acer, or try TDK. Those always worked in mine when others wouldn't.

i am using imation cdr's right now, they were the cheapest ones that i could find and they work every time. i have used several other brands inculding memorix(sp) and PNY. they all have worked fine. i usually buy what is the cheapest.

Take your CDR and hold it up to the light, if its semi transparent it will not work in a lot of cd players. I prefer the blue discs, no matter what brand they are.

Re: CDR's that work on my Monsoon
Never had a problem playing CD-R's in either the HU or Change and I use bottom of the barrel stuff (50 for $5 bux)...
I tried one CD-Rw and it didn't work , so I just stuck with the cheaper CD-R's
Are you sure you're burning actual Music CD's and not MP3 files?
My buddy with an 01 WS6 wasted 10 CD's because he was burning them with Data files in MP3 format

Re: CDR's that work on my Monsoon
It might be the software you are using to create the CDR. I burn one to use in my car on the monsoon deck and work fine, my friend at work can take the same cd and put it in his eclipse headunit and it won't read. I was using nero to do mine, and found out that if he used Roxio it would play on his.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: CDR's that work on my Monsoon
GUYS, it has nothing to do with what brand you use, well at least very little.. It's the fact you have to close the disc to get it to play in most older units, and a few noew ones. When you close a disc it means you cant write on it anymore, and unless it is closed the track listing that some heads use isnt there. When ya'll are burning cd's make sure you check the close or "finalize" cd tab/box or whatever. To all of us with mp3 decks it doesnt matter what ya put in... hope it sheds some light..

I *think* it might have more to do with the software you're using to burn than the brand of CD you're using. I used Nero and everything was fine, what are you using?
