Default removing power antenna.

who's removed their power antenna? i'd like to go to a shortened, fixed mast antenna. how difficult is it? any wiring involved, or is it a plug and play type of deal? who makes a good short, fixed mast? thanks!

Swapping out your power antenna is easy. You just unplug the electical conector and the antenna connection, undo the bolt at the bottom that holds it in, and unscrew the connection at the fender and it will lift down out of the hole. Be sure to take out the drain tube if so equipped. To put a fixed mast in, just put it down through the existing hole and tighten it down with which ever adapter makes it line up the best(you'll probably get a few). The antenna connection should plug right in.

Any place like Circuit City or Best Buy should have a decent assortment of antennae to choose from.
