Help me install a kill switch (2000)
Can anyone with knowledge about the newer f-bods (2000 would be perfect)help me with a fuel pump or starter kill switch. What wires to cut, where? Anyone that can take pictures of these wires to help me out?
Thanks

And are you saying to put a switch into the ground wire? Will this work the same way as putting a switch into the actual starter wire?

as far as the starter kill he is speaking of you can use a standard bosch style relay. when you cut the yellow wire run the key side to 87a run the non key side to 30 and use a small jumper wire to connect 87a to 85. you will have two contacts left 87 and 86. just cover 87 up you don't need it. 86 is gonna be a trigger wire to enable the starter kill run it to a simple toggle switch and ground the toggle switch. when the switch is on you will have a starter kill when the toggle switch is off you will be able to crank the car.
he switched pins 85/86
red wire=to ignition
white wire=to starter
orange wire=to switch(does orange go to one pole of the switch while the other pole is occupied by a wire going to a ground?)
Is the 1/2 amp diode needed?

never heard of preventing inductive lockup. i've heard of quenching diodes to prevent voltage spikes from the coil but inductive lockup is definatly a new one
yes on toggle switch with 2 wires one wire would go to ground while the other goes to the relay. every factory style starter kill i ever see where the starter wire is being used to energize one side of the coil always seems to have a diode on it so it definatly doesn't hurt. i don't think i've ever ran into a problem with not using a diode but i usually get the power for my coil from the pink ignition wire cause that's the way the new dei starter kills are wired up. they did away with the diode like 2 years ago when they started useing the ignition wire to power the coil

2.) To operate this:
- Switch turned on = able to start car.
- Switch turned off= starter will not work.
The starter only needs power while being started, so would i be able to get a momentary button and press it when i wanted to turn on, and after it is started let go and have it go back off? Or would i want a on/off switch and turn it on when i start and drive, and turn it off when i take the key out and park.
