Need some HU, Sub, and Amp help
Need some HU, Sub, and Amp help First off, thanks to anyone who looks at this thread.
Car is a 1999 Camaro. EDIT: I purchased the car with this HU already installed, so I don't know about how it was wired, etc. The front speakers were definetly not stock, either.
I have an Alpine CDA-9813 head unit, and 4 crappy speakers. I'm going to be replacing the hatch speakers, and the door speakers this weekend. My head unit has 4 60 watt max outs, and one amp preout, for a sub (if I understand correctly). I'm still very new to all of this, and would like to ask everyone's advice. The middle speakers, near the backseat, are just gone. I would like to put a pair of subwoofers inside, without having to cut anything, if possible. I just wanted to know:
1. What would I need? Amplifier, wiring, etc?
2. Is it even possible? I'm pretty sure I've seen a few people do it before.
3. Can anyone tell me a bit more about my head unit? I can't seem to find much info on it.

all you could fit there with out cutting would be 6 1/2 maybe 6 3/4 but that would still be midbass not worth it imho. im sure thats not the bass your looking for. you could look into a stealth box, or t top box like i have.

Well, installed some new 6x9's, as well as new front 6 1/2's, and I have to say, it makes a world of difference. I'll post pics of my new setup in a new thread when I get the chance. I am very pleased. I learned a whole lot more by just taking it all apart and just doing it, than reading through the forums. I found my bass (without a subwoofer). Turns out the idiot before me had wired it wrong, and I was getting only treble through all speakers. Anyway, I'll post more details in a new thread.
