stupid 3rd brake light
stupid 3rd brake light for some reason my 3rd brake light is crazy....
i buddy of mine who has an 02ss was behind me at a stoplight and informed me that my 3rd brakelight was out so i changed both the bulbs and it still didnt work......
every time i hit my brakes my defroster light (by the cigarette lighter) lights up
(why it lights up is beyond me)... so for some reason i get the idea to turn my defroster on and hit the brakes... and bingo the 3rd one lights up...but why is it that the rear defroster has to be on for my 3rd brake light to work... i know its not supposed to be like that.. anybody else have this problem and a fix... im thinkin its shorting out somewhere....

all of that was a factory option. Everything is functioning normal!
I have no idea sorry man. Sounds like a short somewhere.

The only thing the third brake light and defroster have in common is their ground. Both ground through a bolt in the roof near the dome light. It's possible that ground connection is no good so the brake light tries to ground through the defroster grid.
