Default Battery Wiring

Hey guys, I'm putting my battery in my trunk. Is there any specific way I should wire it? Would it be alright just to run a wire to the starter, then to the alternator, then to the junction on the passenger side fender? Would there be any problems with the alternator pushing juice back through the starter?

May seem like retarded questions but electronics aren't my forte

Are you adding a battery or are you relocating the original?
