voltage reading off of RCAs
voltage reading off of RCAs I installed a PAC SWI-35 onto my factory CD player and I'm not getting any voltage reading off of the RCAs.. (actually nothing off of the ports on the LOC.. so it must not have a good connection)
Anyway the way I understand it a normal reading at normal volume would be something like 50-100mv, but right now I dont have another setup to compare it to... can someone with a multimeter go outside and tell me what the voltage reading is off of their RCAs... it can be a standard setup off of an aftermarket deck.. just anything to give me a range.

awesome.. really appreciate it. man that's a really low voltage, I actually hooked up some RCAs to my headphone jack on my laptop and got a reading of 4-7mv.. i figured it would be higher off of the stereo but thanks a LOT

If your audio signal is a 60 HZ sine wave with constant amplitude then the reading you get at your DMM might be correct, but music constists of many frequencies. What you're interested in is the peak of these which your dmm is not likely to pick up unless it's designed for such purpose.
