Headlight Switch

Headlight Switch I own a 1995 Pontiac Trans Am and when I turn on just the fog lights and parking lights the headlights come up as well, but they are not on. Someone told me that I have a bad headlight switch, Are they right? Where can I get one?

It's remotely possible that it's the switch but it's more likely a stripped gear in one or both of the headlight motors. Do you hear a grinding sound when you turn the headlights on or off? This is a fairly common problem on Firebirds and it has a variety of symptoms such as what you're experiencing or having the headlights pop up and down when arming the alarm system.

Yeah, When I turn the headlight off it makes a grinding sound. Someone suggested bying a rebuilding kit from like Rodney Dickman or something. That is $70 to fix both of them. So if I buy the kit to fix them that will keep the headlights from popping up when just the foglights are on?
