How do we do this? Im plannon on adding an audiobahn a8000t sub amp but want to keep the stock look of the dash...

Is this possible in our cars?

you have to buy an adapter that goes into the rear speaker output and it converts speaker wire to RCA cables. it is the gayness. I am trying to decide on what deck to get for my car since it sucks. Some stations only bass comes in until you turn up the bass and turn it back down. my 10" alpine sub kicks good and I still have the bass turned off.

Huh? Neither of those replies make sense. You don't have to change the look of your dash to run a sub, all the wires are run like factory wires, around/behind the dash and under the carpet. An aftermarket head unit will obviously change the look of the dash, so if that's what you don't want, THEN you can get a speaker-to-line level converter like purdue mentioned.

where do you install the adapter? Specifically which wires do you tap into to get the signal for the amp??

tap the speaker wires on the 6.5 in the back seat, not the hatch, or the doors. (or you could get the same wire at the amp itself)

What they are referring to is a Line Output Converter. It hooks up to a rear speaker and your and gives you RCAs to hook up to the amp. You can pick them up at circuit city or best buy. Ive done it and it was better than not having a sub IMO

PAC_OEM1 with the AMP-RCA cable is the name of the adapter and cable that keeps that stock headunit. gives you two sets of rcas (front & rear) and a remote amp turn on lead. for anyone that was interested. Plugs right into stock harnesses dont need to cut anything or run another wire to a switch to turn the amp on. pretty slick, installs in no time
