IPod has static when wired through the car
IPod has static when wired through the car I have one of the boxes that you plug in to the monsson head unit in place of the CD Changer but there is alot of static when i use my nano. I checked the connections and there all tight and it doesnt have static if i play music from the radio or the single CD player. I have messed with the treble control and notice that does change the amount of static.
So i was wondering if there is anything i can do to stop this.
I love using the ipod cause it saves me from having to burn a CD but the static gets annoying thanks for the help guys.

If you were talking about a satellite radio I would ask how you're using it because it sounds like what happens when you listen to an auxiliary input through an FM modulator (to use the CD changer port you have to press the CD/AUX (Camaro) or CD/Play (Firebird) button - not leave it on FM radio). But I don't think the iPod has a built-in FM modulator so I don't know why you would get noise. All I can suggest is that you make sure all your connections are tight. Properly connected, that iPod should sound just like an MP3 CD unless the adapter you got is defective somehow.
ill check all the connections again its just annoying with the static cause it would be real nice if it didnt i was wondering if there is something wrong with my headunit since when i raise the treble the static increases but only through the ipod not CD.

I see this was an older thread that got resurrected, if you haven't fixed it yet try this.
I had this problem using a PIE X3...go to Radio Shack and pick up a Ground Loop Isolater: http://www.radioshack.com/sm-see-all...i-2062214.html
The interference on mine was actually the CD player(since it's all wired on one line), I could hear the CD playing ever so slightly when I had the XM or Ipod on but muted. Also it is wise to keep your XM or Ipod at a moderate output(volume) level and increase volume on your cars stereo.

My Ipod volume has no effect on the output i only use the stereo for audio but ill try some things. the only thing ive noticed is that it changes when adjusting the treble.

i was thinking about putting my ipod in old car for my system i was kinda of hesitate b/c over and over i heard that you might have to sacrafice some of the sound quality attaching the Ipod....just something you have to deal with
in my girlfriends truck it sounds fine and its not to the point where you cant stand it i can live with it but just trying to see if it can be better. my girlfirends truck has an aftermarket HU in it though so that probably makes a difference.
