Default not the usual "express down" ?

is there a way to make it "express down" with only the DRIVERS side module? i.e. push the drivers side window button, and both window express down, but use drivers door passenger button to control the window seperatley? or even the passenger door button to control the window seperately. i don't mind them going up and down at the same time, it would just be nice to use one of the other switches to control the pass side window seperately

ill have to look into it. i can see linking them to work together all the time. ill experiment with it.

you want express down both of them at the same time, but individual going up. and retain the pass window controls indivdually?

A diode from the driver's side window down switch to the passenger side window down switch ought to do it.

I could only be specific if I had the circuit (physical or schematic) in front of me.

This will look strange when the passenger wants up but the driver wants down.

i hardly ever have passengers. sometimes my wife will ride with me, but this way, i can "express down" both sides with the one button, while she uses the pass button to adjust it to where she wants it. but 95% of the time, it's just me.

but it would be something activated when the driver button is pushed 'all the way down" activating the express down.

You know, I got to wondering, is it really that hard to press both window buttons at the same time?

no, it's not "hard" it's just annoying having to "wait" for the passenger side to go down.

I started the "express up" thread. Before I put in the extra module for express down I considered doing what you have suggested. Wiring would be quite simple but both windows would always go down together. Of course you could wind one of them back up again but this would get old fast. There are 2 other issues however. The current sensing (which is how I believe it works) is designed for 1 window. The load of 2 windows might make it trip arbitrarily on the way down. Also, check your windows, do they go down at the exact same speed? If one of them is slower, they might not both make it fully down before the first one down trips the module to cut the power.

In my car my passenger window would go down slower when operated from the driver side as compared to using the actual passenger side switch. With the new module in place, it powers the window from that side of the car so even though I triggered it to go down from the driver's side, the module takes over and both windows go down at very equal speeds now. All this is due to GMs relatively small wire gauges and the longer wire path from the driver's side. In your case, the windows are likely to be at slightly different speeds.

If you're willing to spend the time wiring anyway, I would go ahead and spend the few extra dollars to get either a DEI or another factory express down module. That way you can put both windows down by just pressing both switches for a moment but you avoid the problems trying to make both sides work from a single switch. The DEI module also gives you express up on both windows.

The one you want is the 530T. Don't get the 529T because it only offers express up for two windows (no express down because it's designed primarily for use with one of their alarm systems).
