Default alternator/starter question

ok, my ls1 blew up a lil over a year ago and the car sat about 9 months till i finally pulled the engine. My question is, should i have the alternator checked out or anythign done to it, or should it be fine just to put back on the new motor. When i first took it out again, it felt tight to turn and almost hung up but then suddenly it freed up and now spins fine. My concern is also for the starter and any issues i may have with that. Any opinions/advice?

Unless it was sitting outside with the hood off (exposed to rain, etc.) it should be fine.

If you have the funds, while everything is out you might as well go with upgrades on those two so you will have piece of mind and wont get stuck out in the middle of BFE. That is ONLY if you have the funds.
