I just got a free radar detector and now i cant even use it cuz my accessory plug in and cig lighter plug in both dont have electricity running to them. i checked the fuse and its fine but what else could be the problem, is there any other way to get a power source to the radar detector without fixing that other stuff?
edit: o and i forgot that my OBII hook up also has no power goin to it how can i fix taht?

no batteries, i just took the plug in part of the radar apart and there are just two wires, do think i could just put those two wires into the fuse of the radio?

Yes, you could wire the radar detector to the radio but why would you want to? The radio has power through the retained accessory power (RAP) circuit and I don't think you need your detector on when the car isn't running.
There are terminals in the fuse panel that are designed for adding aftermarket accessories such as a radar detector. They are labeled BATT, IGN, and ACCY. The one you want to use with a detector is labeled IGN - it's powered only when the ignition is on. It's also more convenient to wire to the fuse panel than the radio assuming you plan to mount your detector someplace along the top of the windshield.

the burn your car down reference was to your comment about splicing the + and - wires of your radar detector into your radio fuse, which will not work, and shows you do not know what you are doing. Yes, everyone needs to learn, but it seems like you are looking for a quick fix, and not neccessarily solving the problem. No, you probably won't burn your car down, but if you go about this problem without thinking first, and trying to solve the problems the correct way, you could definately short something out.

Check the fuse you just put in with a meter to see if it is blown. It's possible (actually very likely) that there is some problem with that circuit that is blowing the fuse right away. For instance, the insulation on one of the wires could be worn through causing a dead short.

Well, no - it depends on your level of electrical troubleshooting experience and how much work you want to do yourself. With a test light or meter you can usually track down a short or broken connection in an afternoon and then fix it. In this case it is likely a short causing the fuse to blow and you may be able to find it quickly by just pulling the console and checking the wires to the cigarette lighter/power port for worn off insulation or possibly some accessory wiring added there by the previous owner.
The old joke is that the quick way to find a short it is replace the fuse with a piece of heavy gauge wire and then look for where the smoke comes from.
