Which side of fuses is fused?
OK I am wiring up some gauges, I am tapping into the fuses for some 12v switched and 12v hot, and It occured to me that I might be using the unfused side of the fuse, therefore leaving my stuff unprotected. I have all my stuff wired to the right side of the fuse when looking at the fuse box. Is this fine, or do i need to change it?

There is no standard for which side of a fuse is input and which is output - the only way to tell is to remove the fuse and check which side still has power using a meter or test light. If you're connecting at the inside fuse panel then you shouldn't be tapping into an existing fuse anyway - there are three outlets that are specifically designed for connecting aftermarket accessories. They are single connector ports labeled IGN (powered when ignition is on), BATT (powered at all times), and ACCY (powered when ignition is on and when retained accessory power is active - like the radio). Although they are protected by 15 amp fuses, you should always add your own fuse of appropriate size to any accessory you install.
