reverse light problem

reverse light problem My reverse lights aren't coming on when tranny is in reverse but do light up when I use the keyfob to open the doors. Are there different lights in there or does this sound like a more complicated problem?

A4 tranny? If so, the autos have always, in almost any car, had reverse light probelms. At least all of my GM vehicles. My 90 Suburban, 85 Suburban, 91 Firebird, and I haven't paid much attention yet to my 93. Coincidentally all of my GM vehicles have been RWD and used 700R4s lol When you notice it's not on, wiggle the shift back and forth, more twords park. See if it lights up while you do that (if you're alone, at night helps and/or backed up against the wall)
