!!! New keyless remote entry !!!

Does the keyless remote have to be programmed by the dealer to work or is there a series of steps to do this on your own.

there is a series of steps. don't know the order but you should be able to find it here. something about the key in the ignition and pressing the buttons... i remember it was very simple!

The http://www.installuniversity.com/in...rsity/index.htm did not work for my 2002 Trans am. The dealer said I would have to bring it in and they would hook it up to the computer. Is this true or can I do this?

You can do it yourself without the dealer. Should've worked using the installuniversity guide...maybe something else is going on? Did you buy a new remote, battery good...
