Default JL 300/4 vs. a4300

I'm getting ready to buy a 4-channel amp and I'd like to stick with JL, I already have a 500/1 that will be mounted right next to it. I'm leaning towards the 300/4 for looks sake but a buddy told me I should go with the a-series. What are your opinions?

Look to me the 300/4 can be ran harder and can run lower impedeance levels over the a4300. The a4300 looks nice and is a bit cheaper than the 300/4. I guess it depends on how you are going to use the amp.

I have a JL300/4. It is powering 4 Focal 165 CV1 speakers. Plenty of clean power. They are not cheap though unless you buy them grey market.
