Default Back seat speakers

Why won't the mid speakers in the back seat work? Both only have a trebble or bass sound, no music! I heard about the factory amp but how do I bypass it and where is it? thx

I just bought speaker wire from radio shack and ran the mid speakers to the radio harness. That's it! Wasn't too bad. Bout a 40-50 min job.

If those are the factory "subs" in the sail panels and you connected them to the head unit then you may have problems (such as blowing the output section of your head unit). The factory speakers are 2-ohm and the amp is designed to work with them but the headunit expects at least 4 ohms. Cutting the impedance in half doubles the current and much more heat is generated possibly damaging the head unit (especially if you turn the volume up a lot).

It's okay to run speakers that have higher impedance than stock because the current is reduced (along with the output volume). That's why lots of people put 4-ohm replacements in their 2-ohm Monsoon systems without problems. But the reverse is not true - you shouldn't run lower impedance speakers than what the system is designed for.
