Default help! sub quit playing

well the other night i was listening to music and the sub quit playing. i checked the fuses and the inline fuse and all 3 amp fuses are good. so next i get out the test light to see if the amp is even getting power. the light comes on when i touch the signal wire so its gettin the signal from the cd player, but the light dosent light up when i touch the power wire. what could be wrong here? all connections seem to be good, am i overlooking something?

Your 12 volt remote might be loose.

And if you used a rca adapter aka you are using the stock setero recheck the connections..

nah ive got an aftermarket stereo. the problem is that there is no power comming through the power wire, the test light doesnt light up when i touch the power wire, but it DOES light up when touching the signal wire, the signal wire's connection is good too.

So your power wire doesn't have any power? I'd double check the the connection to the battery sometimes they get loose or its not tight enough.

I know this sounds kinda "dangerous" but bypass the fuse and see if that works too...

If your amp connections are good, I would try taking your sub out of the box and make sure the wires are still hooked up.

Opps. Nevermind my last post. I failed to see that you didn't have power from the power wire.

First i'd check the battery, make sure everything is nice and tight and there is no corosion on your leads, then then do the same with the fuse. Depending on where your power wire is run, i've heard stories of people's cables getting cut on metal and shorting out

well i found the problem, the fuse was bas, but it wasnt cracked where it was visible through the glass part thats why i thought it was stil good. it was broke underneath the cap where you couldnt see it unless you took the fuse apart.

My system used to completely shut down(temporarily) and it was probably due to the amp over heating.
