Default Which 4 channel amp to buy??

ok guys im finally fullfilling my life long dream of actually put a good sound system in the car.. I have some Polk components for the doors and some kenwood speakers (which i regret buying by the way) for the sails and rears so the next step is an amp to power these... Mind you, im only going to use this amp to power my doors and sails...

I had these two in mind... I wanna stay under 200 perferably... which one?? or any other suggestions

Kenwood

Based on the price range and RMS values you are looking for, I would without any doubt go with this one: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1703.html

Not 100% sure on the cost....retail is higher, and I'm sure there are places that sell it for a lot more as you know.. But yea, even compared to the others at that site, it is cheap... Maybe they have arrangements that bring costs down? or maybe they're just awesome.... either way, Phoenix Gold is well known as a high quality producer of amps. I also know some guys that run them, and highly recommend their amps (or any of their products).

trust me they aren't some no-name bargain amp....though their products are a bargain. - they are up there with Hifonics and Precision Power.

I THINK part of the reason that they are so cheap there is because they have new models out (not sure how often) and the older models aren't for sale at places like Crutchfield.....

Here ya go...here's what others sell it for (and this place usually has decent prices as well...either way after seeing this it'll be hard to pass it up from the other site) -- http://www.parts-express.com/pe/psho...Number=263-942

Default 4 channeler

My friend has this AMP playing for about a year now, really solid budget amp... i ordered it for myself... if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg def. lookin into Profile Califournia... i was very sceptical at first until i listened to it... def a solid AMP.. never runs hot and pretty accurate on the RMS rating...

http://www.millionbuy.com/prfap1040.html

they seem to have the best prices on them 2... crutchfield almost wants double.

you have the ability to power up to 4 elements separately and independently
...think of it as 4 sets of wires coming off or the amp, that you can use to power for e.x. 2 door speakers and 2 rear speakers - that's only one way to use all 4 channels

(that is very vague - because you can indeed power more than 4 speakers, or less than 4 speakers with a 4channel amplifier)

Of all the ones mentioned in this thread, I'd go with the Phoenix Gold submitted by fredmr39. I've heard good things about Phoenix amplifiers. Second choice would be the Kenwood.

The Profile that MikeySS2000x suggested looks good on paper, but I tend to avoid brands I've never heard of.
