quick question concerning monsoon system...
The sail panel speakers in a Monsoon in a Chevy are sub only speakers. I do not know for sure but I would guess if the Firebird has a Monsoon the sail panel speaker will also be a sub and work fine.

It would work - but would require some wiring modifications. The Camaro uses SVC 2 Ohm "subs" there, while the Firebirds used DVC 4 Ohm subs. You would just wire up the voice coils on the DVC 4 ohm sub in parallel and tap into the 2 power wires in the Camaro.

Might work, might not. If I were going to replace a blown OEM speaker with another OEM speaker, I'd make sure it was the exact same item.
If I didn't have them in storage 5 states away, I'd sell you my old sail speakers. They were working fine when I took them out of my SS. I just wanted something better. I think my Pioneers are a definite improvement.

Remember, the amplifiers are different in the 2 vehicles. A speaker designed specifically for one, may or may not work well with the other.

It will physically work. You can mount it and you can wire the two voice coils in parallel to produce the 2-ohm impedance that the factory amp expects there. However, like HiTechGent said, it might not sound right. There are other differences between Camaro and Firebird subs besides the SVC vs DVC situation. Firebird subs are made from heavier material and have somewhat different frequency response to account for the difference in layout of the other speakers in the system (e.g. components in the hatch area instead of full-range speakers). Believe it or not, GM actually did some "tuning" of the speaker design and positioning when they set up the Monsoon system. It was intended as a replacement for the more expensive Bose tuned speaker system.
Bottom line...you can try it without hurting anything but you might not like the results.
