electrical bugs
electrical bugs i got my car running today after it having a broken trans. i noticed a few electrical bugs while doing normal things. the first was when i hit the Lock/Unlock button on my key FOB the headlights open then close then there's a loud grinding noise which im assuming is the headlight motor. it never did the headlight flip thing before.
then when i try to listen to my radio the antenna goes up and down randomly. i did take out my old system, subwoofer and amp, over the summer so did i mess something up taking that out and that causing these problems?

The headlight problem is caused by stripped gears in the motor. It's a common symptom that can be fixed in several ways. GM will tell you that you have to replace the motor assembly (expensive). You can fix it for free by opening up the motor and rotating the plastic gear 180 degrees but that won't last forever because you still have fragile plastic gears in there. Perhaps the best solution is to replace the plastic gears with metal ones. You can get more information about the last two options at this site.
I don't know what would cause the antenna to go up and down. There are only three wires involved - battery (constant) power, ground, and a trigger wire that should have power when the antenna is up and none when it is down. Check that your connections match those specs. Also, I assume you're not just refering to the way some aftermarket radios will lower the antenna whenever you switch from radio to CD or other source where the antenna isn't needed?
