Default Tach install question

Is there a shortcut to hooking up a tach/shiftlight? I know where to hook the signal wire up to at the PCM, but was hoping for somethig easier under the dash. Is there something I can splice/solder into? I would like to complete install tonight if anyone has any suggestions.

It's not that hard to splice into the tach wire at the PCM and then route a wire through the firewall to the new tach. That's what I did for my shiftlight.

I know, I was just hoping for something easier. Where's the best place to go thru the firewall?

Yeah, there's a rubber grommet at the back of the PCM (just pull it out and it's down at the back). I actually have about 5 different wires running through there now!
Shift light signal
Fused power supply to e-cutout
Fused power supply to passenger window relay (used autotrix's kit)
Control wire to my line lock
Output wire from my wideband O2, etc.
