Default Battery Gauge

I just finished hooking my amp and subs up. My battery gauge now stays in the red. Do you think that its my battery?

I'm certainly no expert but did you wire your amp directly to your battery and then crank up your stereo when the car was OFF? If so, that might have killed it.

no i cranked the car and then i let it run for a few mintes as i was getting my cds so i could put them in the car to listen to and as soon as i started playing the music with the amp and subs on my battery gauge went in the red and stayed there.

Maybe your charge is low or you need a new battery. It seems weird that it would be in the red. What happens when you're actually moving?

red top will meet your needs unless you want to play your music for a LONG time without worrying about draning it. If you will be having the car on most of the time when you listen to music then the RED top will be fine. Unless you have a lot of LED's, and something taking a lot of power then i'd get the yellow if you'll be running them with the car off.

Yes red top def over yellow....yellow will actually fail over period of time if used as a starting battery....happend to me along with countless others....but a yellow top in the back wouldnt hurt u none.

Whats ur current setup if i may ask?
