Well it seems its a bit closer....take notice that in the article the guy who did the install, in a vette, didn't have the special glass. The tricky part seems to be how to modify the dash to accept the unit and the controls....
So..its not impossible

So..its not impossible
The factory HUD cars have a special HUD windshield that is not necessary as the projections shown above are taken on my non-HUD glass in direct sunlight.

COST ISSUES
From GM Parts Direct you can buy a projector for about $300 including shipping.
A dimmer switch is $75 including shipping
A bezel is about $16 plus shipping.
The 11 pin harness is only custom made & not for sale from GM. Try
searching corvetteforum.com for people who make them if needed.
It is also recommend that you buy or borrow a dremel with a right angle.
That will cost around $100.

I know it's a whole different car and setup but here is a clever and pretty low cost build I found.

Don't cry because it's a Honda site, this is a clever idea that could work for camaros as well

any luck installing this in an f-body? i was thinking of getting a late bonneville HUD control for the trans am dash and putting it where the TCS switch usually is (custom fab) and using it with the z06 hud. possible?
