well im new to this...i have a '02 z28 6spd and i want to install a shift light. so i went out and bought one...then i needed to know how to hook it up.....this is where my dilemma starts. ok, my buddy has HPtuners and i downloaded my car to turn the fans on at lower temp and take off the speed limiter and then i noticed this shift light option. heres the link to hptuners forum that some guy says that pin #47 on the C2 connector on a '99 and up v-8.....he claims the pin goes to ground at the set rpm....i looked it up and pin 47 is the 2 - 3 Shift Solenoid Valve Control. doesn't make too much sense adn i wanted to figure this out before i cut wires. would it be easier to just buy the control module rather then mess with this? has anyone using hptuners done a shift light like this?

please help??

I would just hook up a Raptor or Harlan up the standard way, off Pin #10. That HPTuners way seems way the **** out of whack to control a shift light if it's a 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve Thinga-Ma-Bobber.

Two different threads here that will help you with that.

3 wire hookup. + , - , and Pin #10 right out of the lower (red) connector on the PCM. (1999 - 2002) It's a white wire that will be tapped and go to the tach signal on your tach/shift light.

Only one wire goes into the engine bay, the tach lead. There is a grommet on the passenger side firewall behind the PCM. You'll have to remove the PCM to get to it. Drop the kick panel on the passenger side floorboard and you're golden. Both the power and ground will be inside your car. I tapped the pink wire from my TCS switch near my shifter. You can also tap into the fuse box on the drivers side of your dash. There are three smaller slots on the fuse panel, marked ACC, IGN, BATT. The Ignition will be fine, since you only want power going to the shift light when the ignition is on.
