Default 96Z rear speakers compatible with 99 T/A?

like the title says. the 2 speakers in the back where the seats are are blown in my t/a. I was wondering if I can use the ones out of my 96 Z28.

~thanks

Not with optimal results -- the Pontiac version uses dual voice coils, while the Camaro version is of SVC design. So rather than the 4 wires in your car, you would only be able to use two of them.

You would just use one set of wires back there - it will just be getting 1/2 the power that you would normally have. Because each voicecoil on the DVC subs is powered by a separate channel on the amp, you cannot use all 4 wires.

Whoa guys! The key here is that it's a 96 - that's not a Monsoon system. So the speaker will not be compatible. The standard audio system in 96 used extended range speakers in the sail panels that were 10-ohm. The premium system in 96 was the Bose using its special speakers with integrated amps. Those aren't compatible with anything but Bose systems.
