From what I have heard its a good detector. The arrows might be nice. If you want other options that are just as good check out the Escort 8500 X50 or the new Escort 9500i. The new one has GPS in it that you can use to block out false alerts and it also shows your speed on it.

Mine has paid for itself many times over. Well worth the money and far superior to anything else in its price range.

I also have an 8500 x50, which I purchased first. I only used it a few times, had it updated. I should sell it, I don't need 2.

i have a v1, it works great. but i always get caught with instant-on (POP) and laser, it does its job but its pretty pointless to detect that stuff since all it does is tell you you're caught.

there have been plenty times where i've got warnings a mile ahead of time, but then theres the times where the cops got me from 200 ft and and theres really nothing a radar detector could have done to stop it.

every time i have gotten a ticket it was with something a radar detector either couldnt detect, or something it couldnt see until it was too late. and it is happening more and more often, i rarely catch cops with the radars on all the time anymore, they just dont do that as much as they used to in my area...

I love mine. It replaced my passport 8500 and gotta say well worth the extra 100 bucks. The arrows are amazing once youve had them, you wont want to go back.
