That sucks man, our RA was cool as hell and thought it was hilarious. He pretty much could care less what we did as long as we weren't destroying anything or pissing people off to the point where they were knocking on his door. The latter was pretty rare because most people on our floor were up to the same shenanigans we were.

Use to use a couple songs that were building in volume and high in Dynamics.
Vast's Touched (Song #2 on the self titled album is awesome)
Bush's "Glycerine" Soft and works it way into a full tilt song with a ton of volume.
Snootches list is almost classic.
I've used the lion king sound track for highlighting certain instruments like the french horn, Chimes, large timpony drums and the like.
Gun's n roses november rain is a well made song almost on the level with Hotel California. Very well produced large scale piece with a ton of complex area's that can easy puked a decint system.
