Default Can 97+ CD Player fit in PRE 97 Cars?

Hey im looking at upgrading from my a cassette player (lol) to a 97+ Monsoon CD Player. Does anyone know if it will fit into my dash? Or will I have to get a 93-96 CD Player?

Any word also if you have to mess around with the electronics wires/plugs or just plug n go?

Thanks

It will fit and given that the wiring harness adaptor for an aftermarket stereo is the same, you shouldn't need to change anything electrical either.

Since right now I have the stock tape deck in my car, and I want a cd player but I also want to keep the factory look, because it looks much cleaner. so I am just making sure a factory cd player will work and since the 97+ cd players are alot cheaper than a 93-96 cd player.

Thanks for the help any additional info would be great.

It will mount and plug right in as long as you're not replacing a Bose system. Other than Bose, the head units are just ordinary Delco radios that are completely interchangeable.

Bringing back up an old topic, how can you tell if it is a bose unit? I just picked up a 95 z28, and it is not marked bose or anything but does have a factory powered sub in the back. I thought that was a bose only thing??

Check for option code U65 (5-speaker Bose) or U82 (3-speaker Bose).

Thanks again WB! Always around with the answer it seems.

Penta - that's what I was thinking. I will check this out tonight and see what the scoop is.

It actually sounds pretty good, I might just get an mp3 player and run it through the tape deck.
