Default Can this be done?

I have a T/A 'vert with Monsoon.
For stealth purposes, I'd like to retain the head unit, and use an aftermarket amp to drive the speakers. I'd also like to change the door speakers. I believe the factory wiring is jacked up, so I would rewire the system.
So, has anyone used the Monsoon head unit, and an aftermarket amp, and aftermarket door speakers?

Thanks!

yeap, running it now

I used a 4 channel step down (radio wiring to rca output) and ran that into my 4 channel amp. Ran out of amp to speakers.

You can modify the factory deck to run RCAs straight from the deck. It will be a lot better than any other option.

I'm guessing the mod would be taking a low level input before the IC amp.

You could just as easily use a PAC piece that is a High-level (speaker level) to Low-Level (RCA level) output. Been around for a long time.

As simple trick you could do make a PAC filter. All you need is some resistor or a variable resistor (Aka Pot's or Potentiometer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potentiometer

This is basically what you get when you buy the kit. It's just a speaker level input thru a Pot out to a set of RCA jacks (female) Cost is so close it's better to just get the PAC level device.

For front and rear, just use 2.
