power antenna to fixed antenna

power antenna to fixed antenna I have a power antenna on my t/a right now and i'm looking to replace it with a fixed antenna. i'm already on my second power antenna and am tired of them. where would i be able find the parts for this? all i know is that i will need the bracket and i plan on getting a shortie (10") antenna.

HEHEHE. I always find this funny cause I went the other way. I replaced my fixed Camaro antenna with a TA antenna. Just made putting a car cover on easier and since I hardly ever use the radio it gives the car a sleeker look with the antenna down. My Alpine HU only puts the antenna up when you switch to the radio unlike other HU's which leave it up whenever the stereo is on.
The antennas do not match perfectly from one to the other. You will most likely need to drill to mount the mast as the TA and Camaro attach at different points on the bracket.

Give BigMike_2005 a shout, he replaced his antenna with a fixed one by getting a std GM antenna off a Camaro. Hell have details on the install but from what I gather it wasnt too hard.
Then you can either get the std GM whip or anyother antenna

you wantI picked up a fixed antenna bracket from gmpartsdirect for about 20 bucks, you can find it at a dealer for the same price or a salvage yard for cheaper.
radio cable and everything else is the same. I went with bitviper's antenna for mine and if you search the appearance section you'll find my thread with a picture.
quality antenna, same reception, no more broken power units (I lost 2 as well) and looks good
