Default Install Question

Yesterday I wired up my sub and amp but couldnt get the amp to kick on. I attatched the remote wire to a blue with white stripe wire behind my KDC-X990 HU that said "P. CONT." First question, is that the right wire for the remote, and second question, if my ground wasnt good would that stop the amp from turning on?

OK first of all, the ground wire would make your amp not kick on..so make sure that its securely grounded...as far as the wire goes..it should clearly say remote turn on on the wire....I have no idea what P. CONT is for but i doubt its the remote wire. If you still can't find it just run a loop from the dash and mount a toggle switch under the dash, only thing is you have to make sure you turn it off when ur not driving.

yes it should be the blue w/ white stripe and check for a good ground. If you don't have the install manual to reference you can go to kenwood's website and find the model number of your player and they should have a wiring diagram
