Just bought the rockford p2 10"

250 RMS @ 2 ohms (500 peak)

Im looking at this kicker amp (mono and class D) $125 shipped

# RMS Power: 150W x 1 @ 4 ohms
# RMS Power: 300W x 1 @ 2 ohms
# THD at 4-Ohm RMS Power: <1 %
# Speaker Level Inputs: Yes
# Preamp Outputs: Yes
# Built-In Crossovers: LP
# Bass Boost: 0 or 12 dB
# Frequency Response: 20-200 Hz
# Signal to Noise Ratio: 100 dB
# Advanced chassis with extruded aluminum heatsink
# MOSFET class A/B power supply
# Top-mounted controls
# Switchable KickBass 12 dB bass boost at 40 Hz
# 80 Hz low-pass crossover with 24 dB/octave slope
# Built-in 25 Hz subsonic filter
# High level or low level inputs (125mV-10V)
# PreAmp Signal Transfer (PAST) RCA outputs
# Delayed turn-off logic circuit
# Soft start turn-on circuit for reduced startup load
# Short circuit, Over-voltage, Reverse polarity, Thermal overload (SORT) protection

COMES WITH BASS ****!!!

I think im going to get this amp, even though $125 for a mono seems pricey

edit

What exactly does dual 2 ohm voice coil mean? Like..is it just dual voice coils or does that make the sub 4ohm?

a pair of coils on the sub, running them in parrallel will yield 1 ohm, or running them in series will give you 4 ohm.

if you are getting that amp, i would suggest you contact the place you bught the sub and getting the dual 4 ohm. you can run that in parrallel at 2ohm to match the amp load.

Like I said, you need to contact where you bought the sub and change it, or you won't be taking advantage of the amp's output. What is the model of the amp are you looking at?

The kicker did great for what I used it for...

Giving the amp enough power and a clean signal does make a difference. Your car has some electrical fields, so when you run the RCA's, you will want to run them on the opposite side as your power wire. This will help reduce the chance that your amplifier will have "noise" in it. Some RCA's are shielded, but it still helps not to run it with your power wire.
