Default Noob question about picking speakers

Hi guys, I want to first apologize if this post is to noobish. I hope you can be patient with me as I try and figure out what to purchase for my car. I purchased my first car last week, a '99 camaro. Needless to say i was pretty happy, but was dissappointed to find that at least one speaker was blown for sure, i think there may be one or two gone in the back. After finding this i jumped on ebay hoping to find a replacement set, but got very hesitant in buying one after reading that the stock systems had tendency to blow their stock speakers because of the poor design. I began searching crutchfield to find some replacements. I found a lot of options but I wasn't sure if they would be fully compatible. So I began searching to find if others had the same problem i did and what they did. I learned about the 2ohm's the amp sends to the front door and passengers also i think. So the replacements would be 4 ohm but because of the crappy engineering in the stock they would be an upgrade even though you are losing about 50% in volume(i think). A lot of people have been suggesting just replacing it all, speakers, amp, headunit and add subs. But i don't have the money nor the need for that kind of set up. I just want my speakers to work and sound good. So now I am a little confused on how to know if the speakers i am looking at would be a good match to put in my system. Is there a way to tell if the speaker has the wiring that will be compatible with the system, or that can be modified some to work? Maybe that is just a dumb question, but like i said i don't have much background in car systems at all. I have looked at a couple and will post them below if you guys could help me on whether or not they would work. Hopefully this mess above makes sense and you can help me out. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks in advance.

From the FAQ... Check out this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/126979-those-wanting-only-upgrade-speakers-camaro-s-come-here.html

It looks like some people like the Alpine SPS-170A's. You can get them on Ebay for $50+s/h or less.

I didn't read that entire thread, so there might be more options burried in it.

Remember if you are going to go with a Kappa speaker then you need a multi channel amp to power them. Nothing like wasting money on a nice speaker only to have it powered by a deck that only puts out 15watts per channel when the speaker calls for 100rms!

Also be sure to listen to the Infinities before buying them. They are good speakers but a lot of people find them too bright for their taste.
