What should I do to upgrade elec. system?

What should I do to upgrade elec. system? Well guys a 3rd stock alternator took a dump on me yesterday. It's time to upgrade my electrical system...
I've heard of the big 3, but I can't find exactly what it is, as search won't allow me to search for those small of terms.
I'd like to think my alternator can support my system. I have an audiobahn 6x75 rms amp on my highs and a Rockford 500x1 rms amp on my sub.
I'm thinking a bat-cap (bat-cap experts chime in here, don't know which one to get) and a new ground wire on my alternator (0 gauge), but what else should I look into to keep this from happening again?
All suggestions are appreciated!
