13Ov.2 is a lot better for our cars, but it's best at a bit over 1cuft per sub sealed. But it could work in a stealthbox with polyfill, wouldn't make the FR notably worse.
pentavolvo, I really recommend you try a program called WinISD. I certainly don't know everything, but I can model up a speaker in a given box and your SQ10s model such that they only go down to about 80Hz. I'm telling you this so you can improve your system.
But hey, we all know that the people that know nothing are the people that won't take any advice, right?
I remember WAY back in the early 90s when I got a bazooka tube set and some alpine HU and eq and speakers etc put in my first car...
Howthe owner of the install shop swore up and down about how awesome it was gonna sound.. I look back at it now and shudder at how bad he took me to the cleaners L
Not only in price but the loudness and clarity just werent there.Sure it sounded wonderful on volume 12. but that was half as loud as the stock set up... and when you turned it up to try and crank it to 18-20 it was farty and all distorted and crap was clipping..
Anyways.. chuckles.. sorry to go down memory lane
I never got into learning about building boxes and all that space requirment and depth crap. But I have since always done m own installs and I think you did a cool job. Again mad respect for ya to making these cool boxes and different set ups

BTW rage, I couldnt find the 13Ov2's on that program.. but then i didnt d/l the pro version. The eD use image dynamics drivers? or which driver do they use?

Regardless, instead of bashing why don't you post the results from WinISD, graph and box volume to prove your point. I just used the little program I have and it says the F3 is 62hz for that speaker with a .33cuft sealed box. Ported would be much better with an F3 of 41Hz and the volume would only be .55cuft. Ported would be a good choice using a 2"x10" port. This is a quick and dirty program, I'm sure the one you have is better.
One thing I have noticed though is some speakers perform quite differently when firing up or down vs forward. So that should be investigated also.

You have no business in this thread.
Anyway, I was agreeing with you, sort of. Post some results from that program to stand by your conclusion.
Sorry to threadjack on the install! I'm not a fan of coaxials, but they fit nice. Components normally have a good crossover which you can't get with a coaxial.

Oh and yes the advertizing hype with Bose is impressive. It works for them though!

and dont tell me what parts of LS1tech i do and dont have business in. the only threads you have business in are in the sandy vagina section.
Rage does know quite a bit about car audio as well as Bat95, myself, and several others. Most people hear mediocre sound reproduction and are ok with it because they don't know any better. Therefore, any product that has an extensive marketing budget does well. Doesn't necessarily mean they are any good. Bose is one of those companies that has been fortunate enough to have a VERY good marketing department and a decent...not good product. It IS however, good enough for most because they wouldn't know any better anyway. Great example...TV's and picture quality. Some people walk into the show room and go wow that's awesome...I'll take it!! Your standing next to em going...huh?? You wonder if they are looking at the same thing you are. Opinions WILL vary.
anyway very nice install. that looks like paar from PC.com. its good to see hes still rockin the 3.8...not.
