What CD receiver to buy
What CD receiver to buy I want to replace the factory Monsoon CD player in my 2001 SS but I would like to me able to still use the control on the steering wheel. Does anyone know a Brand and model receiver that will work?
Price range would help!! There are way too many variables/options. Almost any aftermarket unit works with your steering wheel controls as that's not what makes them work...the aftermarket PAC SWI-X is what makes that part work with an aftermarket unit. So budget is your starting factor.
CD Receiver Well I don't want to spend to much. Something that will play all recordable CD's,MP3 and that will let me hookup an Ipod or other MP3 device to it. Someing not over 300.00.
Do you like all the flashy screen savers with the dolphins and race cars?? Do you prefer a more basic, easy to read screen. I currently run a JVC avx1. It does everything...mp3,dvd,etc. No flashy screen savers but does have dvd playback. I have had MANY receivers. Alpine is another nice deck to consider with decent options and less flashy readout. If Pioneer is one you like the Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS is one of the best. Sound quality is amazing. Alpine 9885 is another very nice HU with all the options...blue tooth, ipod, etc. Kenwood makes the excelon kd-x891...also a nice unit for around $220.00. Keep in mind if you do get an Alpine the adapter is the PAC SWI-alp I believe. Like I said...lots of options!! Just stick with Kenwood, Alpine, Premier, Eclipse, Clarion, JVC and I'm sure a couple of others I failed to mention. I didn't list Sony on purpose. They are trying to make a come back but I am not real impressed with anything they make currently. For the money you can do way better.
