Subwoofer Project Wiring Help
Hello Everyone, just an Audio noob trying not to fry his system.
I have a 2001 Firebird convertible, with stock Monsoon HU and Monsoon Amp in the back. I've built a custom sub box in the trunk, and put two 10'' into them. I have everything wired up exept for the audio. I need to use high-level inputs since I dont have RCA ports in the back of my HU. Here;s where I need your help.
What would be the best way to get audio back to my amp?
I've considered splicing into the rear sail panel speakers where the red and black wires are connected to the speakers. My friend says that might be back since he thinks that would cut the impedence in half. Could this loss be avoided?
I've also considered splicing into the speaker cables that come out of the Monsoon amp. The problem is, I dont know which wires are imput, output, or even what each one is.
I'm hoping that someone here has already been through all this, and will be able to help me out.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The speakers in the hatch area don't get sub freqs so they wont help you

Okay, Iv'e made some progress, but I need some help.
Here's how it goes.
I've run the power cable from the battery to the amp in the trunk.
I've spliced into the Pink power antenea cable, and run that as a remote line to the amp.
I spliced into the following cables in the Monsoon Amp wiring harness
LIGHT BLUE w/BLACK - right rear quarter speaker woofer negative output
DARK GREEN - right rear quarter speaker woofer positive output
DARK BLUE w/WHITE - left rear quarter speaker woofer positive output
LIGHT GREEN w/BLACK - left rear quarter speaker woofer negative output
I ran the spliced audio cables to the amp, which has High-Level intputs.
When I turn on the HU, the amp turns on, and I can feel the subs moving, but there is very little sound coming from them. Can anyone help me?

yes you dont want to splice at the monsoon subs IMO, you want to grab the signal before it goes into the monsoon amp either at teh amp itself or from behind the radio thats how I have done it in 4 diff monsoon cars
