Default Keyless remote distance...

Well, i didnt get the keyless remotes when i bought the car in October-ish. I went and got a new one, had them program it and it works fine. Only problem is that it only works from like 10ft away . Ive gotta literally be 10ft away to get mine to work while a friend of mine who has a silverado (looks like the same remote) can use his from across the parking lot no prob. Any way to increase the range or is that just how they are on these cars? It is a brand new remote so the battery SHOULD be good. Any suggestions?

Mine's the same way. I have to be pretty close to use it. Might need a new battery. Other than that I just live with it.

Mine does that with a new battery. So I don't think that's an issue. It is just the way the stock alarm is. Sucks, but oh well. One of MANY quirks you get with buying an F-body. Of course that's not why I bought one!! LOL!!! If I wanted stuff that works I would've bought something else that doesn't go as fast or look as good doing it!!

I'm usually 30 or so feet but I can get it to work near 100 if I place it below my chin Really works!!!

Mine seems to work better if I hold it up a little bit. If I'm clicking it while it's near my waist, I've got about a 10 foot range too. If I hold it up to shoulder level (or even over my head heh) the range goes up quite a bit.

Raising the remote definitely increases the range - I don't forget where I park my car in parking lots, so pressing it within 10 feet doesn't bother me.

I have a Python system with keyless entry and remote start. The range on mine in a wide open area is between 1/2 and 3/4 of a mile.

In a building like my office....I can start/unlock it from about 500 feet.

VERY VERY helpful in the winter.
