got a set of aftermarket tail lights
wanted to switch a few lights around to work in different places
on the oe tail lights it goes from outside to inside
194 running light:3157 brake light: reverse and turn on top of each other
on mine it goes
194 runing light: reverse: brake: turn:
i changed it around
i added a brake light socket where the turn sig was: it works fine
but when i tried to turn the 194 running light into a turn sig it wont flash for a turn signal
it will burn for a turn signal : flash for hazards but wont blink for turn
all bulbs are working on the drivers side i have one turn out on the passenger side
my 194 running lights wires arent connected to anythingjust taped off
i know the 194 light in the 88 - 99 ck trucks flash for for a turn sig
why wont my 194 in the rear of the car flash for a turn sig

Put in an electronic flasher. Better yet, use a proper bulb for the turn signal - the 194 is way too small and dim for that purpose. The bulb is causing your problem with not flashing because it doesn't draw enough current. The standard 3156/3157 turn signal bulb draws 2.1 amps and produces 32 candlepower. The 194 bulb draws a mere .27 amps and produces only 2 candlepower - not nearly enough to be visible from the distances required by law (or common sense). The reduced current is just like having a burned out bulb - there's not enough current flow to make the stock thermal flasher flash.
