question about rca interconnects
When I searched rca interconnects only 4 sale stuff and a question about shielding came up btw.
shielding is a thin layer of metal meant to eliminate or reduce the occurrence of electromagnetic wave interference. when you run power through your power wire, a signal comes off at a 90* angle which will add to your signal being sent through your RCAs. people eliminate this by running power wire down one side of the car, and RCAs down the other. another solution is RCAs with twisted wires. the idea is that multiple 90* turns in twisted wire means that the RCAs are never parallel o the power wire, and therefore they wont pick up the interference.
i like to do it all. I run power down one side, RCAs and speaker cable down the other. I also use twisted and shielded RCAs, usually high end ones. my last car had Phoenix Gold QLX RCAs (discontinued i think) which were in the $120 range. Monster cable makes some good ones, but keep a look out for cheapies from all companies. lots of people dont understand the concept of high end cables and what benefits it brings.
I think i spent $800+ on my wire in my old car.
