I hope more people take the time to try their hand at it and do as good a job as you guys have. I'm glad the walk through was informative and apparently easy to follow.
wasnt sure if you were even a member anymore, I followed your walkthrough no more than a week after you posted it, great job man

no, they are kmc hot wheels 68's. My friend got them for the car. His boss rebuilt it and he ordered all the parts for it. Then I came along a few months later and bought it. I have no clue if they make them any more. He got them about 2.5 years ago.

Did you guys cut the carpet out of that area or just taped over it for the fiberglass?

You can just pull that little area of carpet out of there.

Happened across this thread again looking for something else. Saw I had some questions. Well, here's the answers have a year later. sorry for the delay.

Q: Did I marry the top and bottom together on the inside or outside of the box?
A: I did it from from the inside.

Q: Did I tape over the carpet?
A: Yes

Q: How did I mate the mdf panel to the fiberglass?
A: L-brackets w/ bolts and sealed everything with liquid nails.

Q: Average material cost?
A: well, it depends on what you have already, but I'd say it could be done for $40-$50 dollars. The majority of that being for the resin and glass.

I'll try to check this thread again over the next few days to see if there are any more questions.

For those who have made their own box. What cubic footage did you come up with after making the box?
