Weird electrical problem. Need Help. Ok, so we went to get gas, and on the way back, noticed a nice lookin Audi for sale. Pulled into the parking lot, with just our parking lights on. We pulled into a spot, and turned the car off, before we turned the lights off..
Now here is where it gets weird, the engine didnt turn off. It just tried to idle at about 100rpm. It would rev enough to keep itself running, but kept idling like this. The needle on the tach barely moved, but stayed running. As soon as she turned the parking lights off, the motor stopped.
We tried it 2 more times, with the same result. I have no idea where to even start looking. Anyone have any suggestions?

wow..............do you have any accesories that could interfer with normal operations? like stuff wired under the dash that isn't factory? like an alarm? or remote start? if it is fact killing the motor when you deactivate the park lights then i would look for something associated with that circuit. aftermarket alarm is the first thing that comes to mind.
