What guage powerwire do I need?!!

What guage powerwire do I need?!! I did some searching but couldnt find to much on the topic. I am unsure if I need to run 1/0 guage or 4 guage power wire. The power wire will be run to the trunk area and then into a fused distro block with two outputs for my amps. I will be running a mtx 801d, and alpine mrp-f550. The mtx is 800 rms and the alpine is 90rms x 4. I also have a 1 farad cap, and altima red top.
You input is very much appreciated. If I need to run 1/0 wire, do you run it under the car or under the carpet?

Wires becomes less efficient the longer it is. 4 gauge would be the absolute minimum for your two amps. 2 gauge would be better, 1/0 gauge would be best.
For the distance of wire we run in our cars (about 15 feet) Zapco recommends 2 gauge minimum up to 105 amps of current. You are right on the border of 2 gauge wire. 4 gauge is really only safe in our cars up to about 65-70 amps of current.

I think I'm leaning toward 1/0, I found a chart for power cable length that takes into account the length of the run and the amps you will be pulling I added up my amps and it came out to 125 iirc. With those amps the chart recommended 1/0.
Plus I'm thinking of upgrading the 4 channel since my components push 180rms so I might as well run the 1/0.

my advice, go as thick as your budget will allow, but a min of 4 gauge. also, dont try to stuff that big crap under the carpet, you prolly aint never gonna pull the wires back out anyway, run the under the car, cleaner that was and no lumps in the carpet, i mean really, you only gotta do it once.
