Default 98 ss led third brake light choices

I'm going to break down and finally replace my 98 SS's dead led third brake light. The local chevy dealer wants $187.00, gmpartsdirect wants a little over $100.00 and then hawksthirdgenparts has one for $50.00. I emailed hawksthirdgenparts and was told that their light assembly would bolt up fine but that I would have to wire in pig tail and connector together. In another thread about SS led third brake lights someone mentioned that the hawksthirdgenparts brake light could trip up the abs warning light if not wired up correctly. Does anyone have experience with this situation. Thanks

if the 3rd brake light doesnt present the correct resistive load or if the bulb is burned out your abs inop light will come on and you will loose abs. You should be find though I woudlnt worry about it

The part number is 12369969 and you can get it at gmpartsdirect for $116. In the description it will say "w/ Z28", but this IS the correct part number for the SS LED third brake light. I verified it at my local stealership and got the same part number... along with a quote of over $200.

I looked into getting the 3rd light from hawks but if you have to splice them together it WILL cause the abs light to trip... I had that done on my prev 94 z28..

Damn the dealer wants $170+

Anyone bought hawks 3rd brake light?? any issues??
