anyways.... when the car was in the UK the brit's cut and rewired my tail lights so my rever, became amber turns and a "rearred" fog was added. I strpprd all the UK stuff and I have all my turns/haz *both light bulbs in ea. housing blink* and my revers. are back

BUT NO brake lights what gives....i only took out what was not factory and on the dr side yellow wire went to yellow pass side green to green .......

the bulbs are duel filliment/sulivan 3057k ...could i have the wrong bulbs?
my brakes worked before i pulled a sh!tload of wires but i'm sure only after market crap came out......
any one have a laimens wire diagram for me?

do i need to worry about any wires under the dash? the only one NOT hooked up is a white one coming down the steering colum

First place to look is the fuse box. Check that you didn't accidentally blow the STOP/HAZARD fuse (20-amp fuse #1) while you were working on the wiring.

Sorry, I got caught in meetings yesterday.

I assume that these modifications were done to meet local laws that require separate turn signals? Since domestic Firebirds have the turn signals and brakes using the same bulbs and wiring, they must have run extra wires to the back to split the brake light power from the turn signal power. Normally both use the yellow wire (left side) and the dark green wire (right side). I expect that they left those wires carrying turn signal and ran new wires for brake lights (at least that's the way I'd do it because it's easier). So, the object is to reconnect the brake wiring to the turn signal wiring.

But you can't just locate the extra wires and splice them into the tail light harness because the turn signal won't flash when your foot is on the brake (the brake light power will keep the bulb on and not flashing). The factory solved this by using a specially designed turn signal switch that routes the brake light power as well as the turn signal power. The switch cuts off brake light power to the appropriate side when the turn signals are in use.

The connection you're looking for is near the base of the steering column attached to the right side of the column. It is an eleven-pin, single-row connector with ten wires in it. At one end of the connector you will find a light blue wire next to the dark green and yellow wires that go to the tail lights. That light blue wire is the brake light power input to the turn signal switch. I think you'll find it has been removed from the connector and spliced to a new wire going to the brake lights (again...that's the way I would have done it). All you need to do is reconnect the light blue wire to the last position in the connector (next to the dark green wire) and your brake lights should go back to working normally.
