Default Any bigger alternators out there?

I'm gonna drop a huge system in the Cannibal and having that ASP UD has me leary that I won't be able to pump enough juice for the stereo. So, are there any beefier alternators out there or a place I can get it rewound for more amps?

If your going to put a huge system in the Cannibal, replacing the ASP UD with a stock one might be your best bet.

If you are gonna install a beefy system drawing >150 Amps, I would suggest buying an upgraded alternator, plus a capacitor. A capacitor just allows your amps to draw large amount of current instantaneously (long, low bass), without dimming headlights. I would check your local auto electric shops to see if you could get the stocker upgraded. (and put the stock pulley back on)

imho a cap is a waste if your going for a serious
system, get a larger alt and upgrade your power,
and ground wires to the biggest wire you can get.
if your going for spl at all a cap is just a
drain on your system. if your going for sq then
use a second batt:
http://www.carsound.com
is a very good resource ask around under richard
clarks forum and you will get more information

ASP makes an overdrive alternator pully for all the guys running big stereos. This way you can still underdrive everything but the alternator will not be effected. Last time I talked to them, they quoted me $19.95 for the Alt OD pulley.
