Security Light Will Not Go Off? My security Light Will not go off. I installed a Hornet 700T keyless entry upgrade a few months ago and everything was fine intill like 2 weeks ago. The Security Light lite up and the car wouldn't start and the will not go off.
I have tryed using diffrent keys, detaching Hornet Alarm, and rearming the factory settings, and the light remains on but car starts all the time now.
I called dealer, they want $80 bucks an hour to look at it.
What could the problem be?

Yea I had a Viper 550 alarm remote start in my car and it had some trouble with the factory alarm, every now and then the factory alarm would go off and the only way to turn it off was with the factory key fob. Luckily I took it to one of the more experienced installers and he disabled the factory alarm using a combination of turning the key in the ignition and messing with the lock buttons on the drivers side door. Take it to a local shop that does alarms, NOT A BEST BUY OR CIRCUIT CITY BUNCH OF HACKS but one with some experienced installers.

Re: Security Light Will Not Go Off? Actually, the procedure to disable your factory alarm is in your owners manual. In addition to turning it off, you can make the horn honk or not honk on arming or disarm, lights flash, etc.
I had the SECUIRTY light come on in my car. The car would not start just about every other start. I ended up having to bypass the VATS system with a resistor.
